OUR PROCESSEmpowering Your Business with Innovative IT Solutions
Team MAIAR – experts who add true value to any project
Mission advantage, intelligence analysis, and research can’t be looked at in isolation – they’re all interdependent on one another, both in terms of current delivery and future capability development.
And what makes our work unique is how we draw on our experiences in all three, to deliver each one.
This means we can identify our clients’ actual requirements and the necessary solutions, not just their ‘wants’. Through our extensive experience, we’ve realised that they are often not the same thing.
Our services are delivered by a network of employees and associates whose experience is as deep as it is broad – meaning you get all the benefits of working with professionals with a truly diverse skillset.
Made up of ex-military experts, engineers, civil servants, current reservists, and academics, our team thrives when working on complex, challenging projects that others might turn down.

Mission Advantage
“Mission advantage” is a largely subjective concept. Once advantage has been gained, it is often only temporary – and what “true” mission advantage is can be different from one organisation to the next.
However, regardless of how and when an organisation would deem they have achieved mission advantage, getting there requires understanding, interpreting, and analysing defence intelligence, operations, technology, and communications – all at the same time.
That’s why, through our work in the field, we’re trying to break stovepipes and ensure that these domains aren’t viewed in silos. Our aim is to enhance the UK’s defence capabilities through comprehensive delivery programmes, innovative technology-based interventions, and strategic change activities.
Uniquely positioned within the mission advantage domain, our services, often delivered as part of a prime’s team, are crafted to meet and exceed end-user requirements while focusing on tempo, momentum, and decisive insights.
By facilitating collaboration among allied organisations, we not only ensure immediate mission success but also strategically plan for long-term advantage, helping clients work backwards from their desired future state to identify the steps they need to take today.
Our mission advantage services include:
SPOTLIGHT ON: Systems engineering
Our systems engineering services cover the entire lifecycle of systems implementation, from inception to deployment, ensuring successful first-time adoption.
We currently have two distinct customer types:
We provide systems engineering services to a number of government departments working both in and out of the defence domain.
Rather than being a software supplier, we complete the design, data architecture, solution architecture, delivery assurance, and management for these customers.
Regardless of who we’re working with, we bridge the gap between strategic goals and tactical delivery, supporting both our clients and their end users.
With deep domain expertise, we navigate complex environments like defence intelligence, working at an enterprise level to enhance capability development, integration, and service introduction. By focusing on desired outcomes and leveraging intelligence data, we help organisations achieve superior programme performance, reduce costs, and deliver greater all-round value.

Intelligence analysis
Our intelligence analysis services deliver unparalleled, credible insights at exceptional speed, using best of class tools and expertise.
Unique in their multidimensional approach, these services provide unclassified intelligence that is accessible to – and shareable by – any organisation, regardless of background.
Partnering with industry leaders like Planet and Ursa Space Systems, we provide our customers with a deeper understanding of their capabilities and the broader environment, enabling well-informed, justifiable decisions.
Our intelligence will be delivered by our rapidly-developing platform, which can be configured to meet the analyst’s need. While the data is unclassified, it is still thoroughly protected and defended: our platform is covered by ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Our intelligence analysis services include:
SPOTLIGHT ON: IaaS
Our IaaS provision uses best of class intelligence tools and military intelligence skills to analyse and interpret data, which is then presented in an unclassified way that any organisation can use.
Perfect for customers who need support with risk management, require access to reliable intelligence data which can be shared with a wider partnership of organisations, or have concerns about the safety and security of their employees overseas, our services help clients make reliable, well-informed decisions.
What makes this service so special is the people delivering it: they have in-depth knowledge in analysing, interpreting, and using a wide range of intelligence, including geospatial, imagery, and OSINT, and many of them are qualified weapons instructors.
This means that our IaaS work is never one-dimensional. Our extensive work in mission advantage and systems engineering means we have a genuine understanding of how intelligence needs to be applied and how to get the right information to the right people at the right time.
“You have been integral to our development and the way we are growing into the defence and intelligence domain. We’re looking forward to our continued relationship!"
Research
Our research services focus on achieving practical, realistic futures.
Combining tabletop exercises, wargaming, and EAMS, we help our clients identify and define concepts, visualise future capabilities, make informed investment decisions, and apply for suitable research grants.
All of our research is conducted, interpreted, and reported by experts who are experienced in technology and have a high understanding of current and future military technologies based on their own operational experiences. Their findings are delivered through comprehensive reports, system models, and methodology documentation.
But our research doesn’t just explore new capabilities; we’re also examining how research should be conducted and creating reusable scientific methodologies that simplify complex situations and can guide future studies.
Our research services include:
SPOTLIGHT ON: GAN Services
Our research specialism lies in exploring what capabilities could be available to our armed forces in several years’ – even decades’ – time.
Working with commercial defence businesses and government organisations and departments to assist strategic decision-making in the short, mid, and long term, we’re helping our clients to identify what needs to be done today to impact the future.
Critically, we help our clients track and visualise the dependencies between GAN research programmes. For example, several individual research programmes might need to be conducted to create one single future capability. Research and investment resources need to be assigned to each of those programmes in order to achieve the future predicted capability, and we can help clients assess how increased or reduced investment in any single area could impact future outcomes.
